My son is 17 and experiencing moderate acne in his face and back. We went to Derm and prescribed salicylic acid and a topic ointment, but it hasn’t helped at all. Because of the cheap insurance we have now, I ended up paying a lot for the doctor visits and the prescriptions, but now I’m on a tight budget this new year.

So, my question is, do you know of any good products out there or medical skin treatments we can look for to help him? I’ve purchased so many products in the last 2 years and some help for a while, but then not. He even has 2 big keloid scars from 2 cystic acne on his back. I’m trying to get into a derm that would remove those with laser because he’s very conscious about it. Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
